Sharkys Bar in Montrose has been judged the overall winner in the Angus Best Bar None Awards 2009. This prestigious award was made at a ceremony at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Wednesday 3 February, when Tayside Police Chief Superintendent Alan Campbell, chair of the Angus Focus on Alcohol Project congratulated those licence holders who had achieved accreditation in this year's initiative.

A crime prevention seminar for Perth and Kinross retailers was held at Perth Police Station on Monday 1 February 2010. Perth Safer Cities Initiative, in partnership with the Scottish Business Crime Centre, arranged the event to introduce city centre retail staff and city centre police officers to a training package which is designed to help them reduce all aspects of retail crime.
